There’s nothing quite like an RV or trailer trip. Whether you’re traveling across the country or just taking it down to the campground for the weekend, you are in for an adventure.
Fifth wheel trailers are great because they have ample room for a large group. While space is important, many families prefer that their trailers have two bedrooms.
Not only does a second bedroom give parents privacy away from the kids, but the kids can even enjoy their own space without feeling crowded by mom and dad.
It’s important to make your trailer feel like your home away from home. Sure, it’s nice to get away. But you still want to be comfortable and relaxed. Even though you enjoy spending time with your family, it can be nice to have a few moments of alone time in your own room.
That’s why we have created this list of our favorite fifth wheel trailers that incorporate two bedrooms. After reading this post I recommend you take a look at another post I wrote on large trailers for families.

How We Selected Each 5th Wheel Trailer
The main feature we looked for in this list is the option of two bedrooms. However, there are a few other things that were important to us as we narrowed down our search.
The fact that you want two bedrooms already tells us that you need space. For that reason, we have included trailers that have plenty of room so that no one feels cramped or smushed together in a small space.
Many parents purchasing a trailer are also concerned about safety. Special safety features that are included could be smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and safety tinted windows. If you’re buying your trailer used, you also want to make sure the hitch is in good shape.
A fully functional kitchen is going to be your saving grace on a long trailer trip or camping weekend. We tried to find fifth wheel trailers that included appliances and a fridge big enough to suit families.
Storage space is another important feature. Not only should your fifth wheel have enough space for your family, but it should have enough room for everyone’s stuff. This includes food, camping accessories, clothing, electronics, and other comfort items like books, games, blankets, etc.
Finally, possibly one of the most important things to make sure your fifth wheel has is a full-sized bathroom. A large bathroom is especially important for families. Even if you’re camping in the middle of nowhere, you can rely on the fact that you have a toilet, a sink, a vanity, a shower, and possibly even a tub should you go for that option.
There are many other features you can get in a fifth wheel. They may not be considered necessities, but they are things to consider for you and your family:
- Couches and recliners
- Large bay windows
- Slide-out options
- Pull-out couches
- FM/AM radio and Bluetooth connectivity
- Heating/air conditioning
- Two bathrooms

Forest River Sandpiper 377FLIK Front Living Fifth Wheel
A Unique Layout with Highly Functional Front Living
This fifth wheel model is unlike any other. With its unique floor plan, you have enough room to enjoy time together as well as alone time without sacrificing any unnecessary space. Plus, your guests will envy the different design.
Why We Like the Forest River Sandpiper 377FLIK Front Living Fifth Wheel
Unlike any other fifth wheel model out there, the Forest River Sandpiper Front Living Fifth Wheel has switched up the typical floor plan you see in many other fifth wheels.
Rather than holding the master bedroom up the stairs in the overhang like most models do, this fifth wheel houses the queen bed at the back end. The room has excellent overhead storage in addition to a wardrobe and a closet, which can be used as is or hold a washer and dryer set.
The master also has a dresser with a TV mounted above it, and since it’s on the other end of the trailer, it has its own private entrance.
Outside of the master bedroom is a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and all the necessities, including a convenient closet. Past this is the kitchen and dining room. Due to the unique setup, this trailer has room for a large, free-standing table and chairs as well as an island. The room even has a ceiling fan.
To make good use of this trailer, upstairs in the overhang is the separate living room that doubles as the second bedroom. Since this room isn’t sharing space with the kitchen and dining room like in other trailers, there is plenty of room for theater seats and two sofas that extend into beds.
Up in the overhang, this room provides plenty of privacy for kids or guests who are also using it as a bedroom. Whoever gets this room is pretty lucky, since there’s also a fireplace. We love this trailer because it just feels so much like home.
